Back What is Jooping? Jooping provides you with powerful productivity and communications tools to discover how your Smartphone can help you in your daily business. Do I need software to run Jooping? No. Jooping works from your web browser on your PC and your phone and no installation of software is necessary. However for some Jooping Services you will provided with software for your phone to make your life easier. Such software will make your Smartphone really smart! How can I send a text message/SMS? To send a text message/SMS, simply log in to your Jooping account, and click on "SMS" in the upper left application menu. Type in the destination number(s) or select it (them) from your addresses. Enter the message and then click the SEND button. How much does sending a text message/SMS cost? The price for sending the SMS costs 0,1 Euro for high quality SMS. Can the recipient reply to the text message/SMS I send? This is possible for SMS sent with "high quality". The "premium quality" will not offer this capability. If the recipient of the "premium quality" message will reply to the SMS, you will not receie it. Where can I send text messages/SMSs to? What carriers do you support? We support most of the mobile destinations worldwide. We are constantly working on adding more carriers to this list. How many characters can I send in a text message/SMS? What happens if I use more characters? Currently there is a limit of 1 SMS and therefore 160 characters. We will enhance the application that it will be possible to send more characters per SMS.. What is DirectCall? DirectCall is a service where you get a national (Austrian landline) phonenumber and we connect you directly with your international friend. How does DirectCall work? You get a DirectCall Number from us and define an extension for each of your friends. As soon as DirectCall is enabled you can take your phone and dial the DirectCall Number + Extension. We pick up your call and then immediately call the number of your friend and connect you. So you dont need a webpage or a Software on your phone to place cheap calls through us. Why does DirectCall currently only work in Austria? Direct call is in Beta phase and we launched this in Austria. During this phase we only support Austrian DirectCall Numbers. If you want to know when DirectCall is available in your country please contact us via the support form. How can I pay with a bank transfer? After you have made the transfer, please send us a short email, specifying your name, email address and reference number. After the transfer is noted in our bank account, we will credit your Jooping account accordingly and send you a confirmation email. Please note - a bank transfer is not an immediate payment, and it can take several days or possibly more before the transfer is complete and we can see it in our accounts. When I enter the purchased registration number nothing happens Unfortunately this is nothing new, it's a constant problem for all WM Smartphone and PPC software, as all reselling sites require an "Owner Name". Owner Name registration process has one big problem, in order to create the correct registration key based on "Owner Name" of the Smartphone/PPC, the Owner Name itself must be entered EXACTLY like it is written in Start->Settings->Owner Information. (also cases must match) The problem that sometimes occurs is that there may be some extra spaces left after the name or in the middle on initial entering of the name information, this can cause an incorrect calculation of the registration key. How can I install software from my Mac? If we dont deliver a .cab but an .exe file then the software needs to be installed from a PC. Sometimes there is no CAB file available for this software simply because it not possible to carry out advanced operations without entering the protected areas to apply tweaks. SOLUTION: Install such software from someones PC. Software says "You need to have your device application-unlocked. What to do? How do i install software on my Windows Mobile device? Now you:
What is this? SmartLocate is a real-time tracking application. It runs on your phone and and uploads the phone's position to our web site. How do I signup up for an account? You need to install SmartDeviceManager first. Signup takes place in the phone's web browser. When SmartDeviceManager is run for the first time, it should open the web browser for registration. If this does not happen see the troubleshooting page. Why would you want to track your phone's location? SmartLocate was developed to show users the possible benefit of Location and Tracking applications. It can be used to track your children or your families older persons. You can easily make a drivers logbook, etc. How much does SmartLocate cost? There is no charge to use the SmartLocate application but your network operator may charge you for the data it transmits to the server. If you want additional features on the client or the server side we can add this capability to your account. This may cost some additional money. How do I keep data costs down? Get a flat rate data plan! Each data package has a size which depends on the scan intervall. (One scan is only about 45 bytes, but if you scan every 10 seconds then this can be quite some data.) Does SmartLocate affect the battery life of the phone? Yes, when tracking is enabled and each time data is sent to our server. The software has an intelligent GPS scanning algorithm which switches GPS scanning off if it is not necessary. This saves battery. My privacy concerns! Your trail is public so that everybody can see it. However you can use a "pseudonym" for this application so nobody - only the ones you tell - know who this is. It will also be possible to choose if you want to be public or not. How can I improve the performance of the GPS? Use Device software update to install the latest firmware to your phone. Early Symbian firmware versions, for example, did not support A-GPS which improves GPS performance. Can I associate several phones with one account? Yes, when you install SmartDeviceManager on the second phone use the same user name and password that you created when you installed SmartDeviceManager on the first phone. This phone will also be associated with your account and you will be able to see it on the "Our map" link. There is no location information available but I have the software installed on my phone
